DEADSTAR EXORTIUM // FAQ

Questions are easier to answer before they become problems.

New Eden is complicated. Joining a corporation shouldn’t be. This briefing covers the questions we hear most often from pilots considering Deadstar Exortium, new members finding their place, and experienced pilots wondering what exactly we are building.

01 // THE CORPORATION

THE CORPORATION

What is Deadstar Exortium?

Deadstar Exortium is a player corporation built around cooperation, flexibility, and long-term development. We bring together pilots with different interests and experience levels and give them opportunities to operate together rather than forcing everyone into the same mold.

Our operations span wormholes, PvE, resources, home defense, industry, logistics, and Homefront activities across known space.

What does “United // Relentless // Infinite” mean?

It is the principle behind the corporation.

United means we accomplish more together than we do alone.

Relentless means setbacks do not define us. Ships can be replaced. Plans can change. Experience remains.

Infinite means there is always another system to explore, another skill to learn, another operation to build, and another place for a pilot to contribute.

Is Deadstar Exortium a PvP corporation?

PvP is part of EVE Online, and Deadstar pilots should understand that risk exists throughout New Eden. However, Deadstar is not built around forcing every member into constant PvP.

Our operational structure deliberately includes combat, industry, resources, exploration, logistics, Homefront activities, and other forms of participation.

Do I have to participate in every operation?

No.

Real life comes first. Pilots have different schedules, interests, responsibilities, and goals. We would rather have members participate when they can than turn EVE into another obligation.

When you are available, however, we encourage you to get involved. Corporations become stronger when their members actually fly together.

02 // RECRUITMENT

RECRUITMENT

Are new players welcome?

Yes.

Experience is useful, but willingness to learn is more important. Newer pilots can participate in appropriate activities while developing their skills and understanding how corporation operations work.

Do I need to have perfect skills?

Absolutely not.

EVE is a long-term game. Nobody starts with every skill trained, every ship unlocked, or every mechanic understood.

We care more about whether a pilot is willing to learn, communicate, contribute, and improve.

Do I need to be Omega?

No.

Omega is not required to join Deadstar Exortium.

Alpha pilots are welcome. You can participate, learn, contribute, and grow with the corporation without first upgrading your account.

Some ships, skills, modules, and activities are naturally limited by your account’s training access, but those limitations do not prevent you from being a useful member of the corporation.

Bring the skills you have. Fly what you can fly. Learn what interests you. The rest comes with time.

Do I need a specific ship?

No single ship is required for membership.

The appropriate ship depends on what you are doing. Our operations cover several different activities, so pilots should develop toward roles that interest them rather than attempting to train everything at once.

Do I need PvP experience to join?

No.

You should, however, be willing to learn basic situational awareness and understand that EVE is a dangerous universe. Even industrial and PvE pilots benefit from knowing how to recognize threats, communicate danger, and survive unexpected situations.

03 // FINDING YOUR PLACE

FINDING YOUR PLACE

Which operation should I join?

Start with what you enjoy.

Wormholes focuses on exploration, scanning, chain mapping, scouting, and wormhole operations.

PvE focuses on combat, missions, anomalies, fleet PvE, exploration, and salvage.

Resources focuses on mining, resource acquisition, hauling, refining, manufacturing, and supply.

Home Defense focuses on defensive response, fleet readiness, scouting, threat assessment, and protecting corporate personnel and assets.

Industry focuses on manufacturing, logistics, production planning, material movement, and supporting corporate operations.

Homefronts provides a flexible environment for Homefront Operations, events, group travel, mission support, and activities across known space.

Can I participate in more than one operation?

Yes.

In fact, understanding multiple areas of EVE makes you a more capable pilot. A miner who understands logistics is more useful to an industrial operation. A combat pilot who understands resources has a better appreciation for what keeps a fleet supplied.

Specialization is useful. Cross-training is powerful.

Can I change what I do later?

Of course.

Your first interest does not have to become your permanent career. EVE encourages experimentation, and Deadstar does not expect a pilot to remain locked into one role forever.

04 // FLEETS

FLEETS

What happens when I join a fleet?

The fleet commander will normally provide the information you need: destination, objective, fleet composition, communications, and any special instructions.

Your job is to listen, communicate, stay with the fleet, and perform your assigned role.

What if I don’t understand an order?

Ask.

An honest question is preferable to a silent mistake.

During a critical moment, keep communications concise and ask for clarification as soon as practical.

What if I lose my ship?

Ships explode in EVE.

Losses are part of the game and part of learning. The important question is what caused the loss and what can be learned from it.

Do not hide a mistake. Communicate it, learn from it, and move forward.

Do I have to fly expensive ships?

No.

A properly fitted inexpensive ship flown by a pilot who understands its role is generally more useful than an expensive ship flown without a plan.

Fly what you can replace and what the operation actually requires.

05 // WORMHOLES

WORMHOLES

Does Deadstar operate in wormhole space?

Yes.

Wormhole operations are one of our core operational areas and include scanning, chain mapping, exploration, scouting, and coordinated movement through J-space.

Do I need to know how to scan?

You do not need to be an expert before joining, but scanning and bookmark discipline are important skills for pilots participating in wormhole operations.

Training and experience are built through participation.

Is wormhole space safe?

No.

The absence of normal local intelligence makes situational awareness especially important. D-scan discipline, bookmarks, communication, and understanding the chain are fundamental parts of operating in J-space.

06 // INDUSTRY & RESOURCES

INDUSTRY & RESOURCES

Does Deadstar support miners?

Yes.

Resources exists to acquire the materials that keep the corporation moving. Mining is only one part of that process; hauling, refining, manufacturing, and supply management all contribute to the resource chain.

Do I have to mine?

No.

Mining is valuable, but it is not mandatory. Resource acquisition is a larger ecosystem, and different pilots can contribute in different ways.

Does Deadstar manufacture ships and equipment?

Industry exists specifically to support manufacturing, logistics, production planning, material movement, and corporate supply.

Industrial development is intended to make the corporation increasingly self-sufficient and capable of supporting its own operations.

Can industrial pilots participate in combat operations?

Yes.

You do not have to choose between being an industrial pilot and being a member of the corporation. Cross-training and occasional fleet participation are encouraged.

07 // HOME DEFENSE

HOME DEFENSE

Why does Deadstar have a Home Defense operation?

A corporation needs to be able to protect its people and assets.

Home Defense provides a framework for responding to threats, organizing defensive fleets, scouting potential dangers, assessing situations, and protecting corporate space and personnel.

Will I be expected to defend the corporation?

Members should understand that corporations sometimes need their pilots to respond to threats. The exact level of participation depends on the situation, the pilot’s capabilities, and the requirements of the operation.

Communication and preparedness matter more than pretending every pilot is a combat veteran.

08 // HOMEFRONTS

HOMEFRONTS

What are Homefronts?

Homefronts is Deadstar’s flexible known-space operation.

It provides a place for Homefront Operations, public-space activities, events, group travel, mission support, opportunistic objectives, and other activities that benefit from coordinated participation.

Is Homefronts just another PvE operation?

No.

Homefronts is deliberately broader. An operation may involve combat, logistics, travel, scouting, support, or several of those activities at once.

The defining characteristic is flexibility.

09 // COMMUNICATION

COMMUNICATION

What communications platform does Deadstar use?

Corporation communications information is provided to members during onboarding. Follow the current instructions provided by leadership.

What if I’m not comfortable speaking on voice communications?

Communication requirements depend on the operation.

Not every activity requires constant voice communication, but pilots participating in coordinated fleets must be able to receive and understand operational instructions.

How do I ask for help?

Ask.

There is no advantage to struggling silently when another member may be able to solve the problem in minutes.

One of the primary advantages of joining a corporation is having other people to learn from.

10 // CORPORATE CULTURE

CORPORATE CULTURE

What kind of people are you looking for?

People who want to build something.

We value reliability, curiosity, communication, teamwork, independence, and the willingness to learn.

You do not have to be the best pilot in New Eden. You do need to be someone other pilots can rely on.

Is Deadstar a hardcore corporation?

We take our operations seriously without requiring EVE to become a second job.

When an operation starts, we expect people to communicate and work together. Outside of that, pilots are free to enjoy the game in the ways that make sense for them.

What does Deadstar expect from its members?

  • Respect your fellow pilots.
  • Communicate clearly.
  • Be honest about mistakes.
  • Follow fleet command during organized operations.
  • Do not deliberately endanger other members.
  • Help newer pilots when practical.
  • Respect corporate resources.
  • Contribute when you are able.
  • Keep learning.

What does Deadstar not require?

  • Perfect skills.
  • Expensive ships.
  • Constant PvP.
  • Participation in every operation.
  • Being online every day.
  • Knowing everything about EVE.
  • Omega status.

11 // LEADERSHIP

LEADERSHIP

Who runs Deadstar Exortium?

Deadstar Exortium is led by its founders and directors, with operational responsibilities distributed across the corporation’s various areas of activity.

Visit the Leadership section for the current leadership dossiers and responsibilities.

Can I talk to leadership?

Yes.

Leadership exists to support the corporation, not to sit behind a wall. If you have a question, concern, idea, or problem that cannot be solved elsewhere, bring it forward.

12 // APPLICATIONS

APPLICATIONS

How do I apply?

Visit the Recruitment page and follow the current application instructions.

How long does an application take?

Application processing time can vary depending on leadership availability and the number of applications being reviewed.

Do not assume silence means rejection. If additional information is required, leadership will let you know.

What should I put in my application?

Be honest.

Tell us what you actually want to do in EVE, what you enjoy, what you are looking for in a corporation, and what you think you can contribute.

There is no benefit to pretending to be a different pilot simply because you think that is what we want to hear.

13 // THE SHORT VERSION

THE SHORT VERSION

YOU DON’T HAVE TO KNOW EVERYTHING.

You do not need perfect skills. You do not need an expensive ship. You do not need years of experience. You do not need Omega.

You need curiosity, communication, and a willingness to participate.

Everything else can be learned.

DEADSTAR EXORTIUM // END TRANSMISSION

Still have questions?

Good.

The FAQ answers common questions. It cannot answer yours specifically. If something remains unclear, reach out to the corporation through the recruitment or contact channels.

Ask the question. Find the answer. Then go fly.
